it's christmas eve. the year is drawing to a close, families and friends gather together tomorrow to break bread and share love and, for a moment, all is good in the world.
i know this is not the reality for everyone and, as much as it is a day of joy for some, it is a greater day of sorrow for others. the irony of that doesn't escape me, nor will i forget it. but, for a moment, i just want to concentrate on what is good. what is positive. what is hope full.
a dear friend recently visted from paris and it was only whilst talking to her did i realise how dramatically my life has actually changed in the last 12 months. from the uncertainty and insecurity at the start of 2008, i am closing the year with a deep sense of peace.
my word for 2008 was foundations and, although there were times i worried i lost sight of my intentions, i realise as i approach the new year ahead i am in fact standing on solid ground. not always consciously, i have found my place of belonging within myself, and i feel ready to build on that.
this is a revelation for me, to feel completely empowered from within... and it feels great! so, on this special evening, my wish to you and yours is: may the magic of christmas bring peace and empowerment to you. may you feel the strength and beauty that lies within you and embrace the journey ahead of you. may 2009 be the year your dreams come true.
